Our vision for the children’s ministries at Genesis Church is to empower, equip, and activate our children to advance the Kingdom of God. It’s our heart’s desire that they know Jesus, encounter Him, love Him, and follow Him wholeheartedly. Children learn to know Him through the Word, they encounter His presence through worship and prayer, and they learn to follow and serve Him through a life surrendered. Our passion is to help each child discover that their true identity and destiny is found in Jesus Christ alone and to connect them with the Father’s heart so that they will serve Him all the days of their lives (Proverbs 22:6).
We impart the Word of God to the children by teaching with a multi-faceted approach where they are able to hear it, see it, say it, and do it. We create an environment where the Holy Spirit is welcome and the children are positioned to encounter God’s manifest presence.
Lastly, we seek opportunities to partner with parents and help them to pastor their own children. We believe the daily ministry that happens at home is every bit as important, if not more important than the ministry at church. Ultimately, we want and encourage our kids to grow in the things of the Lord and increasingly take responsibility for their own spiritual growth.

SUNDAY MORNINGS (10:30 AM)
Nursery (infants-age 4) (led by Ron and Cindy Utterback) – A nursery is provided during the 10:30 AM service each Sunday. We don’t consider time spent with the youngest members of our church body as babysitting, but rather as a time of ministry and imparting the love of God to our little ones! Our nursery workers are trained volunteers and have passed a background check. We ask that parents that have made Genesis their home church and use the nursery to please consider adding their names to the volunteer schedule.
Kids’ Church (ages 3-12) – At Genesis Church, we believe it is important that kids have an opportunity to worship and learn in a service specially designed just for them! Kids’ Church is held every Sunday during the 10:30 AM service. The kids worship with their parents in the sanctuary at the beginning of the service and are subsequently dismissed to attend Kids’ Church in the church’s lower level. Parents are welcome to join their children whenever they wish. After a time of worship and announcements, our Little Peoples (ages 3 through Kindergarten) (led by Brandy Samuel) are escorted to their classroom and the older Breakout Kids (1st through 6th graders) (led by Andy and Mary Beth King) stay in the Kids’ Church room for the remainder of the service. We use a multi-media approach for our Kids’ Church including praise and worship music, videos, drama skits, puppets, games, and interactive object lessons that all relate back to a lesson based on the Word of God. The kids have fun, but more importantly, each week they receive a greater understanding of Jesus Christ and who they are in Him.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS (7:00-8:30 PM)
B.O.K. Kids’ Camp (1st through 6th graders) (led by Andy and Mary Beth King)
This is a time for our Breakout Kids to come together to build friendships, worship, pray, play, reinforce the Bible lesson we introduced on Sunday and discuss/memorize foundational scriptures. Wednesday nights also provide us an opportunity to conduct more hands-on activities, service projects, field trips, and to prepare for our annual Children’s Christmas Program.
*Breakout Kid’s & Rainbows will not be meeting through the summer months!!
Rainbows Club (ages 3 through Kindergarten) (led by Brandy Samuel)
The club is part of the Missionettes/Royal Rangers program developed by the Assemblies of God. The curriculum is a three-year course based on a Noah’s ark theme. For each unit that a child completes, they receive a badge at the end of the year representing that unit. We are very excited to be able to offer a Wednesday night activity specifically structured for the preschool through kindergarten aged children.
